One of the noblest deeds we can do is to care for those among us who are elderly. This is especially true if the older person is suffering from a chronic ailment which hampers his or her mobility. The torah admonishes us to be reverent elders and to stand up in their presence (Lev. 19:32). We are told to be respectful and to be obedient to our parents (Exod. 20:12, Lev. 20:9, Pro. 20:20). We are warned not to take advantage of widows (Exod. 22:22-24, Zech 7:10).
Our Assist the Elderly ministry is doing our part to lighten the burden of the elderly. We will assist the elderly with any number of chores, such as grocery shopping, accompany them to medical appointments, bring them a hot fresh meal, assist with household chores, or just simply sit and talk with them.
If you know of an elderly person in the Atlanta GA or Charlotte NC metro area who needs assistance, please send us a message below so that we can arrange help.
